HARKES (EHERET), bookseller in London, is mentioned in some Exchequer accounts dating towards the end of Henry VIII's reign. "Engell Vanderhage of Antwerp, wedowe, hathe in bookes prynted in thaundes of Eheret Harkes her factor, xxli." He carried on business apparently in St. Paul's Churchyard.
