AVERY (RICHARD), (?) bookseller in London, 1624; In Wood Street. Mentioned in John Gee's Foot out of the Snare, 1624, as a dealer in Popish books. He was probably a descendant of George Avery { MERYE/AVERYE, George ‹ LBT 07272 › }, who took up his freedom as a stationer in 1592 [Arber, ii. 711].

MLT Note: McKerrow, R.B. &c. (1910) - "dealer in Popish books"; he also suggests that he may be a descendant of George Avery (LBT/07272). ---
