HOLYLAND (JAMES), stationer in London, was an original member of the Stationers' Company in 1557. He must have been an old man as he was eighth on the charter list and one of the assistants. The only entries relating to him in the Registers, beyond notes of subscriptions, are fines for being disobedient, and the last entry 1558-59 runs as follows: "James Holylande for his Dysobedyennce to the Master and Wardyns and for mysbehavynge hym selfe ys Dessemyssed from the assententes tyll suche tyme he Reconsyle hym selfe and also ys fyned." [Arber, I, 94.]
