MLT Note: Cf. Plomer, H.R. (1907) and Plomer, H.R. &c. (1922) who suggests that there may be more than one John Allen at this time. John Allen (LBT/11226) bound to Hannah Allen (LBT/03376) and freed in 1654 and John Allen (LBT/14926) bound to Robert Smith [LBT/] and freed in 1669 appear to be the likliest candidates.
