McKerrow, R.B. &c. (1910) - During his apprenticeship he appears to have left his master, and was caught in 1572 - He was taken back to service by John Day [LBT/7316], but attempted to murder him and his wife. Asplin was then imprisoned and no more is heard of him. [Arber, I, 327, 466]. ---

ASPLIN (THOMAS), stationer, 1567-72. Son of William Asplyn of London, cooper. Apprenticed on March 25th, 1567, for eight years, to John Day { DAY, John (1522 - 1584) ‹ LBT 07316 › }, stationer of London. During his apprenticeship he appears to have left his master, and was caught in 1572 printing Thomas Cartwright's Second Admonition to the Parliament. He was taken back to service by John Day, but attempted to murder him and his wife. Asplin was then imprisoned and no more is heard of him. [Arber, i. 327, 466.]
