Further Notes

Bateman is one of three men, the others being Allde and John Harrison, who began attending Court between 10 Jul and 19 Nov 1627 although there is no record of their election. --- Officerships - on 22 Jun 1631 Bateman requested that "in regard of his age & many infirmities they would --- spare his attendance & free him from all offices" and the Court agreed in return for a fine of £5. Bateman took his seat eight more times, however, down to 21 Nov 1634, but on his last recorded appearance before the Court on 4 May 1635, although he is called "one of the Assistants of this Company", he is not listed with the other Assistants present. ---
