Freedom - on 2 Oct 1733 the Court Book records Brooke's being made free by service following which he was immediately cloathed and fined for the Renter Wardenship. However, McK 3, #1136 records his being made free by patrimony on 1 Mar 1737 and this second freeing in the Company may relate to Brooke's taking up his City freedom which he did by patrimony, on 1 Mar 1737 (ELJL/0585/132). --- C.B. 3 Nov 1772 - did by his last Will give to the Master Wardens & Commonalty for the time being of the Worshipful Company of Stationers London & their Successors & Assigns £100 of Bank 3 per cent Consolidated annuities In Trust to apply & expend the Yearly Interest or Dividends thereof for or towards the Expence of the Yearly Dinner of the Master Wardens & Court of Assistants of the said Company on their Distribution of the Charity Money of the said Company commonly called Cater's charity. ---
