Events (32)
Attendance prior to 5 Aug 1695 remains to be listed.
Further Notes
Restored - Clarke and six others attending this day were "restored to the Assistance" in accordance with an order of the Lord Mayor of 7 Oct. However, none of them attended the next Court on 3 Nov and all seem to have waited for the more formal restoration of 27 Nov 1688 before returning to the Table. --- Last Attendance - On 6 Aug 1694 the Court Book records that a Commission of Bankruptcy had been taken out against Clarke. --- McKenzie 3, pp.30-1 [N.B. Clearly not all the apprentices listed by McKenzie under the name of Henry Clarke at this point belong to the same master. Many were bound before the printer Henry Clarke [LBT/15486] was himself apprenticed or freed, yet some of them appear to be his apprentices. Those bound before the date of his freedom - 7 Jan 1678 - have been placed under Henry Clarke [LBT/15187] a scrivener, and for those bound after the date of the printer's freedom I note the possibility of either master. Nevertheless, the attribution of apprentices to both of these Henry Clarkes must be regarded with suspicion.] ---
