CROSLEY (JOHN), bookseller in London and Oxford, 1597-1612; High Street, Oxford 1607-11. Admitted a bookseller of the University of Oxford on March 16th 1598/9 [Clark, Register. ii I 321]. By his will which was proved on February 12th 1612/3, he left bequests to his sons John and Henry, and the residue to his wife Elizabeth { CROSLEY, Elizabeth ‹ LBT 30666 › }. The inventory of his effects amounted to £526 17s. 8d. [Gibson, Oxford Wills . pp.24-6]. From 1607 to 1611 he was living in High Street, just west of Schidyard Street (Oriel Street) [Oriel Leases].
