Duff, E.G. (1905), p.47

FOXE (JAMES), stationer in London, came to England about 1533. He took out letters of denization in 1541 "April 14 James Foxe, from the dominion of the Emperor. In England 8 years." [Deniz. Roll, 32 Hen. VIII.] In the Subsidy Rolls of 1541 and 1544 he is entered as an assistant of John Reynes { REYNES, John ( - 1542) ‹ LBT 28236 › }, living in St. Faith's Parish. [R. of A., I,67, 93.] In Reynes' will, proved February, 1544, he is mentioned as "Jamys my dutchman" and received a legacy of twenty shillings. [Plomer, Wills, p. 6.]
