DUFF, E.G. (1905), pp.57-8
GONNELD (JAMES), stationer in London, was an original member of the Company on its incorporation. Though neither printer nor publisher he seems to have been an important member of the Company. He was Warden on four successive occasions 1565-6, 1567-8, 1572-3, 1576-7 and Master on three 1579-80, 1582-3, and 1585-6: he also frequently acted as auditor. He had a son Benjamin in holy orders. His will dated 1594 was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. [85 Dixy.] He lived in the Parish of St. Sepulchre.
