GUYETT or GAYOT (GABRIEL), typefounder in London, 1576-88; Criplegate Without. A Dutchman, resident in John Day's { DAY, John (1522 - 1584) ‹ LBT 07316 › } house in St. Anne's Aldersgate in 1576, and probably employed by him to cut letters. He came of a famous family of letter founders and was brother to the widow of Anthony Deise [q.v.] { DEISE, Anthony ‹ LBT 30667 › }. [Worman, Alien Members, p. 26.]
