HARRISON (RICHARD), printer in London, was a member of the Stationers' Company at the time of its incorporation, being forty-seventh on the list. He printed only in the years 1561 and 1562 issuing some half-dozen books. In July, 1562, he was appointed a Warden for the ensuing year but died soon after January, 1563. His device, as described by Camden, was "an hare by a sheafe of rye in the sun for Harrison " and this was used later by John Harrison { HARRISON, John ( - 1616) ‹ LBT 07614 › } who was probably his son. Richard Harrison appears to have been the ancestor of the very numerous stationers and printers of that name.
