The husband of Judith [Name unknown]

McKerrow, R.B. &c. (1910), p.137

HIGLEY (HUGH), (?) bookseller in London, 1598-1625. The first heard of this stationer is the entry in the Registers of his transfer as an apprentice to Adam Mytton { MITTON, Adam ‹ LBT 07648 › }, on February 9th, 1595/6, upon the death of his first master, Richard Webber { WEBBER, Richard ( - 1595) ‹ LBT 07566 › } [Arber, ii. 209). He was made a frecman of the Company on April 24th, 1598 [Arber, iii, 720). His will was dated November 22nd, 1625, and proved on December 7th in the same year. It mentions his wife Judith, a son George and a daughter Margaret, and appoints as ovelseers Thomas Heron and John Beawly [P.C.C., 134, Clarke). No book bearing Higley's name in the imprint has been found.
