DUFF, E.G. (1905), p.72
HILL (JOHN), stationer in London, was an original member of the Company of Stationers. He is not the same person as John a Hill, with whom he is always confused, as we find both names occurring in single lists. John Hill was a more senior member being forty-fifth in the charter. He does not appear to have practised much as a stationer and at the beginning of 1568 paid seven pounds to the Company on being set over to the Vintners. Arber, I, 365.]
