Further Notes

Renter Warden - Of the six men elected to the Court on 20 Jun at the King's order only Isted had not yet fined for the Renter Wardenship and was therefore required to do so before taking his seat. --- Restoration to the Court - Isted and six others attending this day were "restored to the Assistance" in accordance with an order of the Lord Mayor of 7 Oct. However, none of them attended the next Court on 3 Nov and all seem to have waited for the more formal restoration of 27 nov 1688 before returning to the Table. --- Upper Wardenship - on the death of John Baker, Isted was elected Upper Warden for the remainder of the year. Further- the Act of Parliament of 20 Mar 1690 reversing the "Quo Warranto" against the City of London necessitated new elections at which Isted was re-chosen Upper Warden to complete his year. ---
