KEVALL (STEPHEN), stationer in London, was born at Calais and was made free of the Company of Stationers November 23rd, 1535. [Bibl. Soc. Proc., VI, p. 18.] On the incorporation of the Company in 1557 Kevall was ninth on the list and was one of the Masters. In 1560 and 1565 he was Warden. There are very numerous entries relating to him in the Registers but almost all are connected with his official work, and two refer to his taking apprentices. He died on April 13th, 1571, and his will was proved on April 20th. He divided his property between the Stationers' Company and the poor of the Parish of St. Mary-at-Hill with a life interest to his wife Jane { KEVALL, Jane ‹ LBT 03179 › }, who died in 1573. [Plomer, Wills, p. 18.] He was brother of John Kevall { KEVALL, John ‹ LBT 07937 › }.
