Further Notes
Assistantship - The six men chosen to the Court on 5 May 1645 were all confirmed on 14 Jun, conditional on their fining for failingt to make their Renter's Dinner. Only two, not including Marriott, formally agreed, but all continued on the Court, and thus presumably fulfilled the condition. --- Under Wardenship - On 1 Jul 1645 Marriott was allowed "for certaine causes" to neither serve nor fine for Under Warden, though thereafter he was "to sit still", I.e. to see others pass by him in seniority. --- Death - Marriott last dividend in the E.S. was 24 Dec 1661 and his share was disposed of on 23 Jun 1662, these may give us the dates between which he died. However, the report of the disposal of his share on that date does not specify the reason and while this was generally the death of the owner Marriott may simply have been selling out and may thus have lived on past this date. ---
