Further Notes

Assistantship - The six men chosen to the Court on 5 May 1645 were all confirmed on 14 Jun, conditional on their fining for failing to make their Renter's dinner. On 4 Aug 1645 Meredith paid a reduced fine of £7/6/8 which was accepted, but was to be no precedent. --- The father of the Apprentice Henry Cooke [ST/1:2296] complained on 5 Jan 1626 about Meredith's treatment of his son and it was ordered that Meredith should have no other apprentices bd to him until he gave satisfaction (Jackson 1818) --
