PENNYS (JOHN), Bookbinder in London, was a native of Normandy and came to England in 1522 when six years old. He took out letters of denization July 1st, 1544. "John Pennys, born in Normandy, aged 28 years. In England 22 years and is a book-binder." [Westm. Deniz. Roll, 36 Hen. VIII]
