Further Notes

Renter Wardenship - When Norton, Mearne and Roycroft were ordered elected to the Court none had yet served or fined for Renter Warden. Norton and Mearne both fined on their first attendance at Court on 19 Jun 1668; presumably Roycroft did so at his first attendance on 30 Jun, and though there is no mention of it in the Court Book the "Wardens Accounts --- 1663---1727" records the receipt in the year beginning 4 Jul 1668 of £24 from "mr Roycroft for his Renter wardens Fine". --- Under Wardenship - On 25 Aug 1675 Roycroft was ordered to supply the place of Under Warden Samuel Gellibrand during his illness, but although Gellibrand never returned Roycroft took his place only twice and when Gellibrand finally died two months later Macock, not Roycroft, was chosen Under Warden. ---
