SCAPULYS (PHILIPPE), stationer in London, was a brother of the Stationers' Company before the incorporation and is entered as a subscriber to the house of Bridewell in 1555-56 when he gave six pence. [Arber, 1,48.] His will dated 1590 was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. [36 Drury.] He is described as "Philipp Scapulis, par. holie trinitye in Brustoe; borne in cittie of Trier in Germany."
