Duff, E.G. (1905), p.152

STEWARD (WILLIAM), stationer in London, is first mentioned in 1545 when he acted as overseer to the will of James Gaver { GAVER, James ( - 1545) ‹ LBT 28399 › } whose daughter Mary { GAVER, Mary (mar. STEWARD) ‹ LBT 03251 › } he had married. He was an original member of the re-founded Company of Stationers and up to 1564 appears in their books where he is entered as taking apprentices though he does not appear to have printed on his own account.
