WHAPLANE (DUNSTAN), stationer in London, though not mentioned in the charter of 1557 was apparently a member of the Stationers' Compmy before that date. He was taken into the Livery in 1571. He publisled in 1566-7. He was still alive in 1577 when his wife Joan Sutton { SUTTON, Joan (mar. WHAPLANE) ‹ LBT 03255 › } took; an apprentice. Joan Sutton was the widow of either Henry or Edward Sutton { SUTTON, Edward (bap. 1569 - ) ‹ LBT 08522 › } and married Dunstan Whaplane in June, 1571. [London Marriage Licenses, p. 48.]
